The Hofner Super Beatle Deluxe

The first one Sam bought, way back in 1979 or so, is a righty bass, which he played lefty for all these years.  Because of the violin shape, the difference went largely unnoticed to the audience, but it's a bit of a pain for the player (the knobs and pickups are upside down, for instance),

Finally, in 2006, after 23 years of saving his gig money, Sam bought a new Hofner Super Beatle Deluxe - the lefty model.  Sweet!
